Best athletic ceiling in the class. Scheme fit does heavy lifting.

Best raw athletic ceiling in the class at the position — 4.39 at 241 lbs, with Oregon scheming him into slot and outside-WR alignments to maximize the vertical juice. Clears linebackers on the seam before they can recover, with a high-hit-rate receiving profile on the static, linear route menu (curls, slants, go-routes). Add an elite effort-plus-technique run-blocking profile on the move, and there's a real three-down skill set hiding in the tape. The translation hangups are real though: he's a poor decelerator, rounds breaks at speed, and doesn't win against man coverage on the more complex routes in the NFL menu. At 241 lbs without plus upper-body strength, the in-line every-down Y projection is thin. Best fit is a QB-driven run game (Baltimore-style) that needs a flex move-Y more than a volume pass-catcher.

Strengths

  • Top-end speed and explosion — 4.39 at 241 lbs
  • Plus move/pull blocker in Oregon's counter-heavy run game
  • Vertical menace along the seam — clears LBs too fast to recover
  • Elite blocker effort and willingness — translates across schemes

Concerns

  • Poor decelerator — rounds breaks and struggles vs. man coverage
  • Route-tree wins don't translate against dedicated coverage defenders
  • Tweener mass for a true Y — limits the every-down inline projection
